Everything was good. A little pricey for a food court style meal but it was worth it. I didn’t like the fries were lukewarm and the sauce on the fries were cold. I recommended it be a little hotter. The cook said “ I just make the food, leave a review “….. so here’s my review ?

Went there yesterday 6/29 and the service was pretty cool. Nice older lady taking orders although it seemed as if she needed a little more training on the register, she was nice nonetheless. Greeted us, smiled, read our order back to us, she even gave a compliment or two.

Now lets get into the food we ordered 2 of the catfish platters it was SWAI not catfish and that is just wrong to charge the price of catfish for super cheap thin none flaky swai! We also ordered the 4 wing chicken platter and the chicken was super light skin and full of feathers! Now if it didn’t have all the feathers it had and was cooked a smidge longer it would’ve been good! All means came with fries that were also undercooked not cold but rather limp! And only about 3 fries had seasoning!

We also ordered the gumbo and the lima beans were extremely burnt on one side (I hate I didn’t get a pic of them! And the gumbo didn’t come with rice and it was $27 which to me for the price point it tasted more like a soup so it was rather disappointing! Then the absolute WORSE THING OF ALL was the gumbo had MULTIPLE pieces of hair in I was so upset that $27 went down the drain! And no I did not mention it to the owners/workers although I should’ve!

We also had 2 strawberry sweet teas ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! Although my daughter liked hers but U switched mine out for lemonade which they were cool about so that was nice..my husband had strawberry lemonade and he liked it… they did not ofer refills on those $7 drinks tho! Last but not least the sauces! I had voodoo something I forget the exact name but it wasn’t great, wasn’t horrible either but it was DEFINITELY better than the hot honey! The hot honey was exactly that HOT (temp wise) honey not a drop of hot sauce was present! Not a drop of hear was present so my daughter just put hers to the side and ate her chicken plain but my husband used his though!… ALL IN ALL my husband didn’t finish his SWAI my daughter had a wing and a half left with almost all of her fries and I had an ENTIRE bowl of gumbo left and just an fyi everything that was left was thrown away!

While they were a but busy the quality for the price could be A LOT better! We spent $112 on chicken and fries trying to support a black owned business just to be let down! So my take on it is TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE unless you want fake catfish, just barely done wings, and hair filled gumbo!

Located in the Foundry, 4 HENS Creole Kitchen serves up a po'boy that ranks among the best I've ever had. Despite being pricey and sometimes requiring a long wait, the outstanding quality makes every minute worthwhile.

Me and my bestie decided to come visit City Foundry Food hall for dinner before we headed home. Let me tell you. We started with an order of Fried Green Tomatoes. So good!! The remoulade sauce was amazing!! Cooked perfectly. After wandering around I came back and got the Dirty Diver. My bff was asking me if everything was ok because I had no words. It was SO GOOD!! Yes it’s seafood but it didn’t have that “fishy” flavor. Everything was cooked to perfection. The grits were so good even by themselves and they weren’t “gritty” just smooth and flavorful. I can’t wait to come back to STL so I can come back here and get more food!! Oh and the customer service was def 12/10 ⭐️! Friendly and awesome! ?

My grits were really running like soup and my catfish was drowned in the grits. I had to cook everything when I got home, extremely disappointed.

The Gumbo was exceptional! Now, I claim no expertise but can only comment on the food that I ate yesterday, which was incredible. Served up by genuinely friendly staff, I am still thinking fondly of the really delicious lunch at the Foundry. Well balanced spice in this Succotash gumbo, a generous amount of great shrimp, Andouille sausage...It is not so much a question of wanting to eat there again next time we are there for other entertainment, the question is what entertaining excuse can I find to eat there again, asap. Thanks, 4Hens. All subsequent gumbo will now be measured against yours and likely not come close.

My family and I stopped by the Foundry on a whim and I was immediately drawn to Four Hens by the amazing smells coming from the kitchen. As soon as I stepped up to the counter I was greeted by Candace and Nate who took care of me with friendly smiles and warm personalities. Nate made me shrimp and grits, just how he eats it, and it was by far the best grits I’ve ever had…and I’ve had a lot of grits in my life. They were creamy, flavorful and melted perfectly in my mouth. The shrimp were big, full of flavor without overpowering anything else, were perfectly (and I do mean perfectly) cooked and was the best accompaniment to the gravy. If you’re looking for real creole flavors, this is the place for you. RUSH down here before they sell out!!
